귀넷카운티에도 코로나19 백신 첫 물량이 도착했습니다.
귀넷-뉴턴-록대일 보건국은 16일 오전 “2천명에게 투여할 수 있는 화이자 백신 물량을 오늘 전달받았다”고 밝혔습니다. 귀넷 보건국은 주 전역서 코로나 19 백신을 가장 빨리 보급받은 보건국 중 하나입니다.
오드리 아로나 보건국장은 “오랜 시간 이 날이 오기만을 기다렸다”며 “수 주에 걸쳐 초기 백신 배포에 대해 계획을 세워왔다”고 전했습니다.
지난 3월 팬데믹이 시작되면서 귀넷과 뉴턴, 록대일 카운티에도 수많은 주민들이 코로나 19 에 감염돼 왔습니다. 특히 귀넷은 현재 조지아에서 풀턴에 이어 확진자수가 2번째로 많은 카운티로 꼽히고 있습니다.
아로나 국장은 “백신은 보안 유지를 위해 위치를 밝힐 수 없는 중앙 본부에 잘 보관 중”이라고 전했습니다. 귀넷 보건국은 노스사이드 병원과 피드몬트 병원, 이스트사이드 메디컬 센터 등과 협력해 백신 접종 수요와 분량을 파악한 뒤 의료진들부터 우선 접종을 실시할 방침이라고 전했습니다.
