연방상원 다수당 당락을 결정짓는 조지아주의 결선투표가 50일도 채 남지 않았습니다.
조지아 유권자들은 지난 3일 선거에서 투표하지 않았더라도 오는 1월 5일 결선투표에 여전히 참여할 수 있습니다. 다만 유권자 등록 여부를 반드시 확인해야 합니다.
결선을 위한 유권자 등록 마감은 12월 7일까지며 조기투표는 12월 14일부터 시작됩니다.
유권자들은 이미 부재자투표를 신청할 수 있으며 부재자투표 요청 마감 기한은 12월 31일 오후 4시 30분까지입니다.
에리카 해밀턴 디캡 선거관리 담당관은 1월 결선투표를 앞둔 유권자들에게 “일단 투표소에서 직접 투표를 할지 우편투표를 할지에 대해 미리 계획을 세우고 준비해 줄 것”을 당부했습니다.
디캡선관위는 오는23일부터 카운티내 지정된 곳에 부재자투표를 위한 드롭박스를 설치할 것이라고 밝혔습니다. 드롭박스를 이용하는 유권자들은 투표 당일 오후 7시까지 투표를 마쳐야 합니다.
